Sara's Journey

About me...

Growing up, I struggled a lot as a single mom. When I was hospitalized with preemies, I saw what a difference good nursing made, so I went back to school to get my nursing degree.

I ended up starting a company with my best friend Summer called Healing Hands Healthcare. We employ 250 people and served over 4,000 patients in 22 counties across North Texas this year.

I absolutely love the work that I do. What keeps me going is knowing that my team and I make a difference. Hearing stories of my employees making such a positive impact on our patients keeps me in it every single day.

What is the purpose of Healing Hands Healthcare...

Healing Hands Healthcare is a locally owned and operated home health company based in the Wichita Falls area. We are a Healthcare Ministry that is passionate about making a difference. We believe that the heart of healthcare is service to others. With healing hands and caring hearts, we provide quality healthcare in the comfort of your own home.

Why did I start Healing Hands Healthcare...

My best friend and I started our own company because we wanted to train people different. I had worked at several places where I felt like I was just a number and no one really took the time to get to know me or my heart. Sometimes you spend more time with your work family than your real family, so I felt that it was important to make people feel valued and appreciated.

We both also wanted to take care of the community in which we grew up in. We just wanted to give back to our community and make sure everyone gets taken care of.

My hobbies...

My husband and I love to travel with our 5 kids and see new places.

I am mindful about...

I strongly believe that mental health is important -- that's why we have a chaplain and counselor available to both our patients and staff! We believe that being able to come to work with a clear mind and have somebody to talk to that is trained and licensed for things like that is a necessity.

I also try to be mindful about people's feelings. What might be a small problem for me might be life-altering to someone else.

My superpower...

Reading people. I can walk into a room and be able to empathize with everyone.

How can members of the BuDhaGirl tribe help Healing Hands Healthcare?

It's important for families to know that home health is available. Medicare covers home health 100%.
