LISA FIRESTONE PHD
For the past 25 years, Dr. Lisa Firestone has been a practicing clinical psychologist in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, California. Lisa works as the Director of Research and Education at The Glendon Association and a Senior Editor at PsychAlive.org. She is the coauthor of several books most recently The Self Under Siege (Routledge Press) Sex and Love in Intimate Relationships (APA Books) Conquer Your Critical Inner Voice (New Harbinger Publications) and Creating a Life of Meaning and Compassion: The Wisdom of Psychotherapy (APA Books).
Dr. Firestone is a nationally and internationally regarded speaker on topics that include couple relations, parenting, suicide and violence prevention assessment and treatment.
Lisa received her Ph.D. from the California School of Professional Psychology. Since 1987, she has been involved in clinical training and applied research in suicide and violence. In collaboration with her father Dr. Robert Firestone, Lisa’s studies have resulted in the development of the Firestone Assessment of Self-Destructive Thoughts (FAST) and the Firestone Assessment of Violent Thoughts (FAVT).
